Dashcam

We migrated from using the Dashcam installer to the portable exe due to spurious installation failures. However this required hard-coding a github release artifact link, which pins us to a Dashcam build that will go old. We'd like to be able to download the latest portable exe from the same location as we previously downloaded the installer: https://replayable-api-production.herokuapp.com/download/win (or similar url)

Video (or player) should not "render" downtime where nothing is happening. Instead, it should automatically skip downtime and proceed to the next timestamp where logs occur.

App should be packaged as a "portable" exe to make it easy to deploy within automations

We'd like to have a more official and better documenting source of truth than the code snippet by which we learned that we can create those files to configure Dashcam.

I wanted to do some more advanced text searching in my text editor, but there is no way to download the log file and I can't copy the log text out of Dashcam because it is streamed (so there's no way to select it all).

For example, recording using the pattern Foo/Bar.Meow/*.txt would not correctly match files under that directory. From internal convos, this is a bug in the chokidar library.

Why: We expect our investigations to require correlating logs at similar time stamps between log files for multiple apps (the test, the app and winappdriver) Possible implementation: Move logs under the video and provide a "split" button to have two views Possible implementation: A docking area that allows you to drag files from the IDE-like sidebar

Feature request: When selecting a log file, it would be super useful to show begin/end markers on the video to show which part if the video it concerns. Bonus points if we can have a view where the video is trimmed to only that time period.

One more feature request: Some logs tend to have wide lines that become hard to read with line wrapping on my small laptop screen. It would be useful to have an alternative vertical split layout where the video is at the top and the logs are underneath.
